What do people often think about Librarians? Kaj si ljudje mislijo o knjižničarjih?

That`s not a real job./ To sploh ni prava služba.
If you sit in the Library all day and read, you can`t say you are working, can you.


Librarians have no stress./Knjižničarji ne poznajo stresa.
The word stress, according to many, does not exist in Librarians world.

Librarians are little old ladies with their hair pulled back and reading glasses./ Knjižničarke so majhne stare gospe s figo v laseh in bralnimi očali.
Some things do change. Youngers don’t think of librarians as old ladies “shushing” people all the time. That’s nice to know.

Librarians have read every book in the library./ Knjižničarji so prebrali vse knjige v knjižnici
As much as I try, there is not an option to read everythink. To much books, to little time, to much different work.

Librarians know the answer to everything./Knjižničarji poznajo odgovor na vsako vprašanje.
We never have professed to know everything, but we are taught to learn where to find everything. I’m still working on that part after 25 years! New places for information keep springing up!

By the way, I am a School Librarian with a very real job, which requires a lot of energy. I am not an old lady ((yet) but I have reading glasses. I have read almost everything in my library. I don`t know the answer to everything, but I try to find it.
